Nature and exploring is something that has really driven my writing and my inspiration. I haven't been doing it, because I'm constantly trying to keep up with the chaos of the internet and the madness of things beyond my control.
So, what am I saying exactly?
Essentially, I am going on the modern equivalent of hightailing it to the wilderness. If you read through western literature at all it is full of the narratives of people getting overwhelmed by civilization and breaking away. Sometimes they get eaten by a bear, other times they get a chance to start a new life. I'm hoping for the latter.
I won't be completely gone. Odds are I will still pop onto Twitter (@kaycsulli) from time to time to try and find some fun things (and carefully ignore the politics, I'm dealing with it enough in real life that I don't need it in my leisure time too). I've also become really fond of the notebook and pen community on Instagram (kaycsulli), so you'll see photos that I take in both places.
This gives me a chance to better engage with getting back to my roots as a writer and to feel less hectic (because when I feel that way my creativity tends to shut down). I have some pretty exciting offline adventures planned that will provide some energy for future stories.
When will I be back?
I plan to come back as Kay C. Sulli 2.0 by October when Wishing on the Perseid is rereleased in a new anthology. Not to mention it's NaNoWriMo season and I wouldn't miss that for the world! By then I should have some more figured out about Connor, Mathieu, and their world as well (if you've been reading A Raven's Wolf... don't worry, I don't plan to abandon it and thank you so much! I would love to hear what you've been thinking about the story!).
I'm hoping that with this recharge I'll be able to jump back in with new perspectives, new goals, and, most importantly, new stories!
I can answer personal correspondence, so if you'd like to get in contact with me for any reason please reach out on Twitter, Instagram, or by email!
